Sunny days surrounded by deep blue water with visibility as far as the eye can see is an image often conjured up when one thinks about chartering a yacht. It’s a completely realistic image as some of the world’s most popular charter locations include the sunny Mediterranean, and Caribbean where you can spend a week immersed in a picturesque setting.
The global super-yacht charter industry typically adjusts its cruising locations based on the time of year. For example, a yacht may be available for summer charter in the Mediterranean and winter charter in the Caribbean. Rates may or may not be different based on the time of year and location. There is no absolute standard for the seasonal location of a super-yacht that is available for charter, some yachts may be in the Caribbean during one part of the year while others explore the Mediterranean or even far east cruising grounds such as Thailand and the Philippines. The south pacific islands such as Fiji, Tahiti, Tonga and other are also on the rise in popularity as yacht charter destinations.
During the Caribbean season it is a common sight to see many of the world’s most prominent super-yachts moored or underway cruising in St. Barts, Antigua or the Virgin Islands. Of course, charter guests can decide which destinations are of particular interest for their trip but throughout the Caribbean season there are sure to be an impressive number of the world’s super-yachts across many of the islands.
During the Mediterranean season super-yachts can be found gathered from Gibraltar to Monaco and the French Riviera, Ibiza and Formentera. Montenegro, Antibes and the Amalfi coast are other highly sought after Mediterranean charter locations.
Although the Caribbean and Mediterranean are two of the world’s most popular destinations for yacht charter the destination options are endless. From the south pacific to Monaco, there’s sure to be a perfect destination for your ideal charter.
